Designing Custom Layout for analog and mixed signals.

Custom Layout Trainee — Penang Chip Design Academy (PCDA), PSDC Completed 1-month training in digital and analog IC layout design using Synopsys tools. Designed layouts from basic gates up to a 16-bit full adder, and implemented cross-coupled and interdigitated analog layouts. Gained hands-on skills in DRC/LVS verification, routing strategies, via connections, metal constraints, and layout optimization.

During my internship at Shanpoornam Metals Sdn Bhd in the Facility and Engineering Department (July 2024 – October 2024), I gained hands-on experience in electrical systems maintenance, wiring installations, and equipment troubleshooting. I was involved in key projects such as the wiring of three-phase motors for industrial machinery, installation of single-phase motors to enhance ventilation at the ITAD facility, and the wiring of an Induced Draft (ID) fan at the copper plant integrated with the PLC system for automated control. In addition to project work, I performed routine tasks such as taking voltage, current, and power factor readings to monitor system performance and prevent equipment failure. My responsibilities also included assisting in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting system errors, and collaborating with vendors and engineers to ensure the smooth operation of key facilities. These tasks deepened my understanding of electrical systems and reinforced the importance of teamwork, problem-solving, and safety protocols in a fast-paced industrial environment. This internship allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings and develop crucial technical and soft skills, preparing me for future challenges in engineering and facility management.
