Executive accountability for end-to-end API operations across five units: API Research & Development; Synthetic API Manufacturing unit; Hormones API Manufacturing unit; Fermentation API Manufacturing unit, and HPAPI & Kilo Lab (under construction) Scope & Enterprise Accountability: • End-to-end accountability for API R&D and manufacturing strategy. • Develop strategic APIs, support the maintenance of products in line, and act in the continuous improvement of production processes, seeking the best strategy of APIs for Libbs. • Leadership of 120+ professionals across multidisciplinary technical and operational teams. • Annual CAPEX/OPEX oversight of approximately R$130MM. • Reporting to the Director of Operations/C-level. • Executive decision support on industrial strategy, capacity planning, and portfolio direction. • Oversight of technology transfer (internal and external). • Lead a process R&D team of scientists and technicians to develop, optimize, and scale up robust pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. • Responsible for resource management and project execution in the pharmaceutical wing. • Develop in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes to facilitate technology transfers to commercial manufacturing sites and the successful process validation. • Review technical reports, manufacturing instructions and process validation documents. • Capable of coming up with cost-effective and non-infringing manufacturing strategies. • Develop and implement new drug product manufacturing technologies. • Serve as departmental representative on key process redesign initiatives. • Coordinate with the project management team to provide periodical updates on project status and ensure the timely completion of projects. • Co-ordinate with cross-functional teams as part of process development. • Well conversant with Quality and regulatory requirements for APIs.

• Design, synthesize, purify and characterize diverse organic molecules, including bioactive-molecules with complex topological architectures. • Development of new organocatalytic approaches to chemical synthesis, using novel reactivity concepts, which allow rapid and stereo-controlled access to natural-product-inspired compound collections with a minimum number of reaction steps, atom-economy, and minimum waste production. • Perform literature reviews to inform study development. • Produce academic output (conference abstracts, presentations and publications). • Disseminate knowledge levels at such peer based meetings in the format of talks and posters where appropriate. • Co-ordinate and attend formal meetings associated with the study. • Produce interim and progress reports. • Activity planning and meeting project milestones. • Supervise graduate and undergraduate students and junior postdocs. • Advice Ph.D., students working on their project, take part in discussions to reach the targets and supervise their day-to-day laboratory activity.

• Devising new processes, or refining existing ones, to optimize the manufacturing process. • Planning, carrying out and supervising process trials in laboratories or pilot plants. • Scaling up the production process via plant trials, making changes to raw materials or components and process parameters to ensure quality is maintained during large-scale production. • Improving yields by reducing costs, for example investigating alternative materials or new machinery to improve efficiency, quality and yields in bottleneck areas. • Validating new processes and showing that they are an improvement. • Working with product pipelines at various stages of development. • Reading and writing technical reports and specifications, and maintaining appropriate batch records; • Initiating and generating ideas based on reading and research. • Developed and scaled-up processes for anti-diabetic drug and anti-cholesterol drug.

To explore the ring opening reaction of epoxides with new reagent system SiO2.Cl-MX was developed. This project was sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), India.

* Elucidation of structures from the names, which are generated before IUPAC nomenclature. That would help in providing IUPAC names to users of the database including researchers, pharmaceutical companies finally helping them in the process of drug discovery and synthesis of new drugs. * The project work involves the literature curation services done by studying the activity studies of various Organic compounds by changing substituent’s on the core structure; it also involves the assay types by which the compound can be synthesized.
