I partner with leadership to identify and understand their hiring needs and effectively communicate and execute HR programs and directives. I offer comprehensive and proactive human resource services to over 1,000 employees in my divisional client groups: Specialty Television and Western Canadian Radio. Through knowledge transfer, coaching, and training, I increase the ability of business unit managers and staff to independently action and resolve employee relations issues and facilitate change management. I also administer the Corus Disability Management program. My strong communication and interpersonal skills enable me to provide encouraging support to employees on short-term and long-term disability.

I research and initiate the revision of past policies and documents to design up-to-date tools and guidelines to be used by staff.Working both independently and collaboratively, I develop policy recommendations and submissions by analyzing current issues affecting our organization. This at times involves creating practices that are novel to current employees and the communities we interact with. My presence on our various committees has provided me the experience of working with a cross-function group to accomplish a common goal. I have continued to explore and develop my leadership and communications skills, further enabling me to successfully present new concepts and proposals to various audiences such as management, employees and the public. I also provide career counselling to candidates, orientation to new employees and coordination of major programs and events.

Reporting to the Directors of Corporate & Regional HR Services, I provide proactive support to the Human Resource Services department. My role encompasses various HR functions; everything from assisting with recruitment to employee relations and performance management. In this position, diplomacy, time management and attention to detail are all paramount. As well as knowledge of HR acts and legislation, the collective agreement and HR best practices.
