I am a biologist/neuroscientist with longstanding interest and work experience in statistics and interdisciplinary clinical research. My interests include data analysis of clinical data (prospective cohort studies), novel technologies (wearables, movement sensors), biomarkers, and epidemiological/healthcare data (registers and insurance claims data). My research focusses on prediction and progression markers in Parkinson's disease using these diverse and complementary longitudinal data sources.

For my Ph.D. I worked in the field of functional neuroimaging (fMRI, EEG, fNIRS) and Imaging Genetics. Here, I focussed on (1) dopaminergic gene variants with impact on human brain processing, (2) (neuro)vascular aspects of functional Imaging, and (3) alterations in brain processing with aging. In this time I published 11 papers in Cerebral Cortex, NeuroImage, Human Brain Mapping, Molecular Psychiatry, Neuropsychopharmacology and PLoS One (Impact factors: 4 to 16).
