Sean Zeng, PhD

With over 10 years of experience in research and development, due diligence, and global scouting, I am a Director of External Innovation at Haleon. In this role, I lead the identification, evaluation, and negotiation of external innovation opportunities, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Previously, I was an Associate Director at the China Innovation Hub of Merck Group, where I managed the foresight and scouting activities for the cross-sectors in China and Asia-Pacific, and supported the incubation and integration of acquired innovations from external companies. I also received the Merck Award 2020 for my contribution to the innovation strategy and culture of the organization. I hold a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the Institute of Neuroscience, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a B.Sc. in Biotechnology from Peking University. I have multiple publications in the field of neurobiology and neurosciences. I am passionate about advancing the science and technology, and creating value for patients and society through innovation partnerships.
