Currently serving as an officer in the Indiana Army National Guard in traditional status (drill and annual training.) Engineer lead for the command team in charge of 2,200 personnel of 81st Troop Command. Responsibilities include project management, presentations, logistical support planning, mission planning, coordination, and investigations. Participated in and planned Joint Task Forces 81 portion of Arctic Eagle 16 exercise which is a National Guard-led, Joint, Interagency, Intergovernmental, and Multinational (JIIM) Exercise based on POTUS / DOD and State of Alaska Arctic Strategies

High School teacher of Physics, Integrated Chemistry/Physics, and AP Physics. In addition, I dualcredit teach AP Physics courses for college credit. I am also the coach of Highland's Science Olympiad team. On average each year, I teach over 125 students, coach an additional 15 students, and mentor 1 new teacher. I have transformed science education in Highland by creating and instituting new science programs. Some highlights include, changing 9th grade science education into Integrated Chemistry/Physics, spearheading shift in school calendar to facilitate better test scores, updating all Physics education into AP/Dual credit education, and coordinating science education within the High School and with the middle school program. My Physics students have consistently performed above school and national averages on all tests.

Logistical lead for the 113th Engineer Battalion of over 700 soldiers. Instrumental in meeting the logistical requirements and synchronizing the logistical effort to ensure all battalion operations were successful. Served as Officer in charge of a security mission to Haiti in support of humanitarian relief following the earth quake in that country. During this relief effort, in charge of a mission to provide medical assistance to over 5,000 Haitians. “He is best logistics officer I have ever worked with in my 18 years as an Army officer. His efforts during this rating period were no less than outstanding.”

Executive Officer and for 6 months was acting company commander of 713th Engineer Company. Led and planned training and missions for over 100 personnel. Created and implement a Sapper Leaders Course train up course and Sapper Stakes training still in usage today.

Deployed to Iraq as Brigade Engineer for the 177th Brigade. Personally selected to fill this senior position as a junior officer. The lead engineer in charge of planning, assessment, and management of construction and maintenance for 6 internment/detention facilities, an Iraqi correction officer facility, Brigade headquarters, and various smaller sites. The Army engineer in charge of over 150 construction projects costing over $252,000,000. Performed numerous structural assessments, liaison missions, topographical site surveys, engineer training, and general engineering assessments.

Thermoelectric Engineer for then leading manufacturer of thermoelectric modules. Developed and standardized new thermoelectric assemblies product line that is still in usage today. Tested and analyzed products(various thermoelectric modules) for endurance and performance. Part of a team that designed, build, and tested custom assemblies for various corporations. Conducted research and development of new manufacturing techniques for materials.

Responsible for recruitment of prospective Veteran students to Boise State University. Creation and implementation of marketing material and plan for Boise State University to veteran students. Primary point of contact and resource for potential students and community members. Provides outreach and training on campus to make students, faculty, and staff aware of veteran issues/solutions and Veteran Services. Professional speaker and expert in veteran topics, leadership, and transitioning students into higher education. Coordination and planning events on campus and off campus with charitable organizations, military organizations, and community groups.

Engineer lead for the 6 separate companies of the 113th Engineer Battalion performing various horizontal construction (roads and area clearing), vertical construction (buildings and structures), defense support of civilian authorities ,and sapper missions (explosives and demolitions.) Responsibilities include project management, project planning, and coordination within Battalion and with outside organizations

Led over 140 soldiers and responsible for a property book of over $14,000,000 as commander of 1613th Engineer Support Company. Mobilized the entire company to completed construction missions in Hohenfels, Germany; Grayling, Michigan; and various locations in Indiana. Exceeded Battalion and Brigade commander's expectations on all construction projects, training, family readiness and soldier support, soldier and unit readiness, maintenance operations, recruiting, retention, administrative, and logistic operations. “He takes on complex projects, plans, resources, and simply executes. His superb performance is an indication of his potential.”

Platoon leader in Bravo Company 113th Engineer. Led 30 soldiers. Planned and implemented a realistic training far beyond my peers for technical and tactical proficiency. Deployed to California to the US border for border security mission. Commanded two vertical engineer teams totaling 48 Warriors and Airmen in support of Operation Steel Curtain and as direct liaison between Navy Seals and engineer personnel. “He has quickly shown himself to be a capable and competent leader. He has demonstrated that he is an excellent trainer, as well as an effective mentor in the development of junior leaders. His potential is unlimited.”

Officer in the Idaho Army National Guard in traditional status (drill and annual training.) Brigade Engineer for the 116th CAV HBCT . Principal duty is Brigade Engineer with additional duty as Chief of Protection. Principal staff officer responsible for planning and assessing mobility, countermobility, survivability, and general engineering operations in support of the movement and manever, protection, and sustainment warfighting function. Responsible for all engineer operations occurring within the brigade's area of operations. As Chief of the Protection is principal staff officer responsible for the protection warfighting function. Principal advisor to the commander on all matters relating to the protection warfighting function.
