Experience

Freelance Producer/Script Editor, Audio Drama Director

Producer/Director/Script Editor
Since 2010, I have worked as producer/director on approximately 350 audio dramas for Big Finish Productions, working on franchises such as Doctor Who, Torchwood, and originating my own supernatural horror series, The Confessions of Dorian Gray. In this role I have been responsible for commissioning content, script editing, liaising with agents, booking and directing studio sessions, and overseeing post-production; always working effectively to the allocated budgets. As a studio director, I have worked with a wealth of vocal talent, including Sir Derek Jacobi, Kate Winslet, Eve Myles, David Tennant, Burn Gorman, Indira Varma, Sir Michael Palin, as well as introducing new actors to the medium through my work teaching radio drama to students, including the likes of Anthony Boyle and Callum Scott Howells.

Writer
Big Finish Productions/BBC Audio/ Penguin Books/Titan Books/Tiny Rebel
Commissioned to write over 45 original audio dramas/short stories for Big Finish Productions, BBC Audio, Penguin Books, Titan Books and Tiny Rebel Games, working closely with producers and editors to meet production requirements across a number of popular franchises, including Doctor Who, Dark Shadows and Sherlock Holmes. This included co-writing The Mind of the Hodiac with Russell T Davies, and overseeing the revival of his debut drama series, Dark Season, upon his request. Also created and produced Big Finish’s popular original horror format The Confessions of Dorian Gray (2012 - present).

Assistant Producer
Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom
In 2022, I reunited with Russell T Davies for his new era of Doctor Who, initially working as a Script Editor for the 2023 Specials starring David Tennant, before covering Ncuti Gatwa’s first series as the Doctor. Following this first year with production, I was promoted to Producer for the six-part Tales of the TARDIS miniseries for BBC iPlayer, reuniting classic casts and characters for the series’ 60th anniversary, working within a limited schedule and budget. Following my initial 18 months with the Doctor Who production team, I migrated to its spin-off production, The War Between the Land and the Sea, working alongside executive producer Joel Collins to help assemble the production team and set up the office, and assisting producer Edoardo Ferretti across every aspect of production.

Production Coordinator
Hartswood, Sherlock IV
Oversaw production management duties on the final block of Sherlock IV, stepping into an established production environment to provide essential production support for the final weeks of filming and closing down the production office following wrap.

Script Editor
BBC Wales, Doctor Who
Worked closely with the production team and executive producers on series eight and nine of Doctor Who, liaising with licensees to ensure tie-in content met BBC editorial guidelines, whilst also remaining tonally consistent with upcoming storylines.

Script Editor
Bentley Productions, Harry Price: Ghost Hunter
Undertook script editing duties on ITV’s Christmas drama, Harry Price: Ghost Hunter, working alongside executive producer Jo Wright and producer Denise Paul, communicating notes to overseas writer Jack Lothian. Duties included conducting script meetings and issuing notes to the writer, liaising with the art department and writing copy, charting negative checks and clearances, and issuing drafts and amends.

Script Editor
BBC Worldwide (Hong Kong)
Employed to oversee production of an English Language Learning project for BBC Worldwide, utilising familiar characters and brands to introduce the English language to children overseas via a series of specially-commissioned mini-dramas. Required a strong understanding of brand, storytelling, whilst also working within the restrictions of language and learning stages. Subsequently commissioned to script the final levels as a result of my work with the team in Hong Kong.
