• Investigated the role self-antigen recognition plays in the conversion of conventional T cells to regulatory T cells in the context of a murine model of Multiple sclerosis. • Independently designed, optimized, executed, analyzed and presented in vitro and in vivo T cell assays. • Utilized multi-parameter (12+ color) flow cytometry to sort and characterize immune cell populations, cell activation, differentiation and function.

• Examined how transplanted human Neural Stem Cells (hNSCs) increased Tregs within the spinal cord of a murine model of Multiple sclerosis. • Executed and optimized in vitro and in vivo T cell assays.

• Lead project efforts to cryopreserve reproductive stem cells for clinical use. • Independently designed, optimized and executed experiments to further cryopreservation of reproductive stem cells project. • Created Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and developed production procedures for cell-based products.

• Managed the vivarium and vivarium staff. • Designed and implemented new policies to standardize procedures in line with changes in national policy.

• Developed production procedures to manufacture adipose derived stem cells. • Independently designed, optimized and executed experiments involving the creation of primary cell lines from human and mouse tissue in addition to the maintenance and derivation of germ line stem cell lines. • Designed assays to characterize cell populations using flow cytometry and molecular biology techniques including western blot. • Developed in vivo assays to assess transplanted stem cell function.

• Supported in vivo animal studies including daily vivarium operations, animal care, colony management, genotyping, minor animal procedures, mouse embryo work including intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), tissue collection, and histology. • Supported in vitro laboratory experiments by preforming human tissue banking work, performed molecular biology assays (PCR and DNA extraction), cell culture, media preparation and maintenance of laboratory supply inventories. • Supervised training of new Laboratory and Animal Technicians.

Student Researcher in the Neuhausen Lab. • Screened the BRCA2 gene of men who had breast cancer through sequencing. • Co-authored a published manuscript with analyzed results of BRCA2 screen.
