Castlight’s Enterprise Healthcare Cloud technology enables employers to deliver world-class benefits to their people and empowers employees with the information they need to make better healthcare decisions for themselves and their families. Founded in 2008, Castlight Health successfully completed a $2B IPO in 2014. I developed backend Java services and frontend components for the Castlight web portal.

Using the Google tech stack and Java APIs, I built distributed data pipelines and core data sets to power Google's central sales and ads revenue data warehouse. I drove operational improvements to the warehouse to ensure high data availability per internal SLAs. Hands-on: Java, Python, Django, BigTable, GFS, MapReduce, Tenzing, Dremel, ColumnIO, Sawzall, Borgmon, MySQL, Oracle, Netezza.

Greylock and Foundation Capital backed startup. Later acquired by iMany, then Revitas, then Model N. The Edge Dynamics analytics platform enables pharmaceutical manufacturers to track product through distribution and sales channels; to enforce fee for service (FFS) contracts with wholesalers; and to reconcile chargebacks and negative chargebacks. Used by industry leaders including GSK, Bristol-Meyers Squibb, Novartis, and Genentech. I developed core business logic to transform and analyze channel transactions, using EDI data for purchase orders, shipments, inventory reports, chargebacks. I learned a lot about analytics, and the inner workings of the pharmaceutical industry. Hands-on: Oracle PL/SQL, XSLT, MDX, BIRT, J2EE stack.

AdvancePCS acquired iScribe technology assets in 2001, and retained a small core team of original employees to continue product development. AdvancePCS later merged with Caremark. I built and managed the data warehouse and ETL processes that supplied all of the drug and formulary data for the iScribe prescribing tool.

Early employee at Kleiner Perkins backed healthcare IT startup. We were pioneers in the field of electronic medical prescribing, shipping mobile Rx applications for PalmOS and Windows CE.

I supported teams of engineers focused on digital media technology: audio/video, codecs, DSP algorithms. Our target markets included 3D visualization/simulation and professional media production. My teams shipped IRIX runtime libraries, device drivers, and hardware components for the SGI 4D/35, Indigo, Crimson, Indy, O2, and 320/540 Visual Workstations. As a software engineer, I shipped code (Unix, C, assembly) related to audio processing and realtime I/O.

Developed trace-driven performance simulator for i860 microprocessor family. Evaluated branch prediction and instruction fetch strategies.

Unix/C programming. Made scientific and graphics code run faster.
