Producer and host of the weekly two-hour world music show Spin The Globe, which usually follows a specific theme and provides appropriate contextual information on songs, musical styles, and artists and often includes artist interviews and in-studio performances. Editing, writing, copyediting, and proofreading for a variety of clients ranging from book publishers to technical training organizations. Work has included newsletter editing and layout, writing Web page copy, Web page design and management, crafting press releases, audio/sound editing and production, book editing, map and chart proofreading, photo captions, and digital photography.

Conceived and created the World Sacred Music Festival, held annually in Olympia, Washington 2004-2010. In addition to selecting and scheduling the performances and workshops, I maintained the website and worked with others on finances, sponsorships, and promotions. The all-day festival included dozens of performers and workshops, ethnic food, sacred art, and related activities. The festival served as a regional draw for performers and audience alike in its mission to celebrate the sacred through the music and dance of diverse spiritual traditions. Responsible for establishing and maintaining contacts with record labels and distribution companies, acquiring CDs for the station, maintaining “world” section of music library, and coordinating promotions of local performances, including artist interviews and on-air performances. Also compiled weekly Top 10 World Music and Top 5 New World Adds charts, posted at CMJ and at at http://spintheglobe.earball.net

Supervised the station’s volunteer programmers, trained new volunteers, and maintained communication with the nearly 100 volunteers and professional and student staff. Was responsible for daily station operations, ensuring compliance with FCC regulations, and maintaining the station’s on-air logs. Assisted other staff with programming and development, editing the KAOS Program Guide, producing on-air spots, and leading a Web site redesign.

Responsible for planning, oversight, budget, and direction of projects and programs for this regional interfaith organization. Initiated, planned, and served as music director for Olympia’s annual World Sacred Music Festival. Developed, organized, and facilitated the ongoing Study Circles for Interfaith Dialogue.

Promoted good gardening, water-use, composting, fertilizing, and pruning practices at public events and through the Master Gardener office.

Served in International News department with responsibilities including generation of story ideas, communication with foreign correspondents, editing, headline writing, graphics and photography selection, and coordination on deadline. Also wrote news and features articles and opinion pieces.
