I received my Ph.D. at the University of Luxembourg in August 2020. During my time as a doctoral researcher, I passionately developed an energy management system using model predictive control to optimally operate a building energy system in a laboratory setting. Optimal control of a complex building energy system requires continuous data acquisition, storage, visualization and manipulation. However, decentralized topologies of energy systems, locally limited computing power and a lack of expertise make this endeavor difficult. To address these challenges, future projects involve cloud-based solutions.
