I am thrilled to announce my new position as a Trainee Counselor at Jyoti Nivas College, where I am dedicated to providing essential mental health support to undergraduate students. In this role, my primary focus will encompass one-on-one counseling, psychoeducation, and crisis intervention, targeting various concerns such as academic stress, career planning, personal growth, and more. Drawing upon my past experiences, I am eager to contribute to the creation of a safe and supportive environment for students during this pivotal stage of their lives. This opportunity allows me to further develop my skills and positively impact the well-being and development of the undergraduate community at Jyoti Nivas College. I am enthusiastic about the prospect of guiding students through their challenges and assisting them in navigating the complexities of academic and personal growth.

During my dedicated tenure as a trainee counselor at St. Francis ICSE School, I embarked on a profoundly enriching journey in counseling. In this role, I was actively engaged in delivering direct counseling services to students spanning from 5th to 8th grade, all under careful supervision. This 100-hour internship not only underscored my unwavering commitment to learning and advancing in the counseling domain but also proved to be a transformative experience, significantly shaping my outlook on child and adolescent mental health. My primary responsibilities included conducting over 100 hours of one-on-one counseling sessions with students, addressing a spectrum of issues such as academic stress, social anxiety, peer relationships, self-esteem, and family dynamics. Additionally, I co-facilitated a therapy group dedicated to augmenting emotional intelligence and social skills among students. This involved designing and implementing interactive activities and discussions to cultivate a safe and supportive group atmosphere. Collaborating with a seasoned team of counselors and educators, I contributed to the development of personalized intervention plans, thereby nurturing the holistic well-being of the students. Active participation in regular supervision sessions provided me with valuable insights and constructive feedback on counseling techniques and client management. Throughout the internship, I refined my counseling skills, particularly in active listening, empathy, and the application of diverse therapeutic approaches tailored to the unique needs of children and adolescents within an educational context. This pivotal experience at St. Francis ICSE School solidified my passion for working with young minds and laid a robust foundation for my future career in counseling.
