As a Senior Project Officer within the NetOps Strategy team, I serve as the sole global role based in Malaysia, to support strategic initiatives by applying structured project management and PMO best practices to ensure effective planning, coordination, and execution of projects aligned with business objectives. I collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a complex network operations environment to manage timelines, dependencies, and deliverables. My role includes preparing project updates and reports to enable informed decision-making, while maintaining a strong customer-first approach, governance discipline, and commitment to continuous improvement to strengthen overall project management maturity.

I provide independent tutoring for students enrolled in the Master of Project Management program at Universiti Malaya, covering all 10 Knowledge Areas and 8 Performance Domains outlined in PMBOK 6 & PMBOK 7. My approach combines structured weekly group sessions with personalized one-on-one mentoring, ensuring that students develop a comprehensive and practical understanding of project management principles. Through interactive discussions, case studies, and hands-on problem-solving exercises, I help students grasp industry best practices, real-world applications, and strategic methodologies essential for effective project execution. My focus is on bridging the gap between theoretical frameworks and practical implementation, enabling students to navigate key areas such as risk management, stakeholder engagement, resource allocation, and decision-making with confidence. By integrating industry insights with academic learning, I strive to equip students with the skills needed to manage complex projects successfully and adapt to evolving challenges in the field of project management.

As a Project Manager at Xenergi Sdn Bhd, I focus on enhancing efficiency, optimizing workflows, and ensuring seamless coordination across various disciplines. My role involves refining project lifecycles to improve productivity, minimize inefficiencies, and align each phase—from planning to completion—with strategic objectives. By identifying process gaps and implementing optimization strategies, I streamline operations while ensuring compliance with industry standards. A key part of my role involves collaborating with consultants from civil, mechanical and electrical (M&E), and architectural firms to ensure smooth project integration. Through regular meetings, I facilitate communication, address challenges, and keep stakeholders aligned on objectives. Managing special projects and optimizing resource allocation help me drive efficiency while mitigating risks and ensuring timely project execution. Beyond project coordination, I lead process optimization initiatives through workshops, discussions, and workflow mapping with Microsoft Visio. By analyzing existing processes and identifying improvements, I develop solutions that eliminate redundancies, enhance collaboration, and drive operational effectiveness. As a key member of the newly established Mercedes-Benz Parts Logistics Asia Pacific, I played a pivotal role in overseeing the Regional Logistics Centre (RLC) in Senai, serving 24 countries in the Asia Pacific region. I collaborated with project members to ensure milestones were met, organized meetings, and facilitated project rollout. My responsibilities included maintaining accurate documentation, managing timelines, and ensuring effective communication through follow-ups on meeting minutes. Additionally, I performed budget control, tracked project tasks, and proactively addressed deviations from aligned processes.

I have been assigned to the contracts and commercials department. We primarily keep a close eye on project finances and contractual relationships. I was assigned to support the downstream team. Our downstream team here at YTL Construction works on the payment claim certifications. My roles are advising on the potential of a site and working out what a client can afford to build, often termed ‘feasibility’. Presenting detailed information on the cost of particular elements of work on a periodic basis to enable payment for those works carried out to date. This process is known as ‘valuations’. Organising the division of a project into its component work packages, then awarding these work packages to smaller, more specialised construction companies (known as subcontractors) and, in that process, finding out who offers the best deal. Dealing with contractual and legal matters. Managing costs to make sure that the initial budget isn’t exceeded. Arranging staff payments and, at the end of a job, settling the final accounts. Acting as financial advisors and monitoring progress for the client.
