Sarel Joubert

I would like to provide an overview of my professional background. I commenced my career in 1995 at a plastic HDPE/PP chemical manufacturing facility, where I also pursued studies in production and supply chain management. Concurrently, I served as a police reservist from 1995 to 1999, and I was a member of an elite rapid task force between 1998 and 1999.In 2000, I transitioned into the IT sector, working in the United Kingdom for two years as a programmer and technician. Upon returning to South Africa, I held the position of National Sales Manager for Casio from 2002 to 2006. Following this, I pursued a career in the solar industry, serving as the Managing Director for Pacific Solar Technologies. During this period, I was also appointed Vice Chairman of the Sustainable Energy Society of Southern Africa (SESSA) and sat on the technical board of the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS). Between 2006 and 2015, my responsibilities included global travel to manufacturing facilities for the procurement of solar products for South Africa and the management of a significant distribution dealer and installer network across Southern Africa, in collaboration with the SABS and Eskom, the national electrical provider. From 2016 to 2019, I was involved with several companies establishing themselves in the solar market with consulting and project management.Subsequently, for economic reasons, I immigrated to New Zealand. I have continuously worked in the solar industry for the past 19 years and have been the business owner of a Harrisons Solar franchise since 2021.
