Hi, I’m Sarah. I work with growing UK SMEs who want their governance to keep pace with their ambition. Most businesses don’t struggle because they lack policies. I act as a Fractional Governance, Risk & Compliance Lead for SMEs who don’t need a full-time Head of Compliance, but do need experienced, senior oversight. With over 15 years’ experience in process-driven environments, I build management systems that support how organisations actually operate — not just how they present to auditors. Much of my work is with IT-led and data-driven SMEs, where information security, service governance and regulatory accountability must align in a commercially sensible way. In practice, that means: • Leading ISO implementation (27001, 9001, 14001 and others) • Providing ongoing governance and risk oversight • Attending leadership meetings as a trusted advisor • Maintaining risk visibility and compliance frameworks • Supporting GDPR accountability and information security decisions • Delivering internal audits that add clarity, not anxiety I don’t believe in tick-box compliance. I believe good governance should make a business calmer, clearer and more resilient. It builds trust with customers, supports tender success, strengthens insurance positioning and gives leadership confidence that risk is being managed properly.
