Clinical Research Coordinator
Our study seeks to understand the structural and financial barriers that prevent at-risk women of color from receiving and taking HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP). In Massachusetts, under-represented minorities, and particularly women in under-represented minority groups, are at increased risk for contracting HIV in their lifetime. We seek to understand the proportion of women in the Roxbury community who are at highest risk for contracting HIV, what they know about PrEP, and what the barriers to them receiving PrEP might be so that we can address these issues in the hopes of decreasing the transmission of HIV to these healthy women.

Undergraduate Researcher
Greater Boston Area
We studied essential and conditionally essential genes in the multidrug resistant bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa using transposon insertion sequencing. We are hopeful this information will unlock novel targets for the development of future antibiotic drug therapies. I was an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Deb Hung's Lab working under Dr. Brad Poulsen, a Post-Doctoral Fellow. https://molbio.mgh.harvard.edu/laboratories/hung
