Bend Anesthesiology Group (BAG) is a physician-owned and physician-led anesthesiology group serving the diverse patient population in Central Oregon. As an anesthesiologist with BAG, I provide anesthesiology services at St. Charles Medical Centers in Redmond and Bend, providing anesthesia services for general/urologic/gynecologic, trauma, orthopedic, neurosurgical, thoracic, pediatric, interventional cardiology, interventional radiology and endoscopic procedures. Additionally, we provide obstetric anesthesiology services for the Family Birthing Center in Bend, OR. Instructor for the Medical Microbiology course with Harvard Extension School. This course provides students with an introductory framework regarding microbiology and clinical applications, with coursework that covers bacteria, fungi, and viral pathogens and treatments. As lecturer, I develop, design, and teach lectures for the course as well as developing the homework and exams for the course.

Graduate teaching assistant role for the Medical Microbiology course at the Harvard Extension School. Responsibilities included: grading weekly assignments, grading examinations, developing the graduate credit specific curriculum, teaching the fungal pathogens lecture, writing exam questions, and corresponding with students. This class was initially held in-person, but transitioned to an online-only format in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

AcceptMed is a group of dedicated and skilled pre-medical, residency, and fellowship advisors, all of whom are Harvard trained MDs. Through AcceptMed, I offer individualized advising, feedback, and insight throughout the BS/MD, medical school, or residency application process.

Our research seeks to better characterize Burkholderia contaminans, an opportunistic Gram negative bacterium implicated in a recent outbreak in critically ill children at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Our study seeks to understand the structural and financial barriers that prevent at-risk women of color from receiving and taking HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP). In Massachusetts, under-represented minorities, and particularly women in under-represented minority groups, are at increased risk for contracting HIV in their lifetime. We seek to understand the proportion of women in the Roxbury community who are at highest risk for contracting HIV, what they know about PrEP, and what the barriers to them receiving PrEP might be so that we can address these issues in the hopes of decreasing the transmission of HIV to these healthy women.

Coached the 6 & Under and 7 & 8 year old age groups. Activities included: -Designing and writing practice sets -Organizing swim meets and coordinating with lifeguards, pool management, and opposing team swim coaches to facilitate a smooth meet environment -Teaching swimming lessons and swimming clinics to young children and more advanced swimmers

We studied essential and conditionally essential genes in the multidrug resistant bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa using transposon insertion sequencing. We are hopeful this information will unlock novel targets for the development of future antibiotic drug therapies. Lumio Health seeks to democratize health testing so that clinical grade results can be incorporated into everyone's daily lives. I was responsible for organizing the Clinical Research Coordinators and recruiting and consenting participants for the clinical pilot study. I helped create and write standard operating procedures for the company, accumulated and organized clinical data in an FDA compliant manner, helped train clinical research coordinators, and helped develop an automated system to respond to women interested in taking part in our study.

Subjects I am qualified to tutor include: 7.01x (Introductory Biology), 7.02 (Intro to Experimental Biology and Communication), 7.03 (Genetics), 7.05 (General Biochemistry), and 7.06 (Cell Biology) Designed one-on-one tutoring sessions for students in need and developed lesson plans, study materials, and practice questions for larger groups of students.

Organized and sorted packages and mail, helped residents resolve any issues they had in the building, and coordinated with building management and security guards in order to ensure a safe and comfortable living situation for all residents.
