Responsible for managing a team of electrical engineers and technical specialist and provide technical leadership on testing of substation protection relays and specialized schemes. Provides a critical path towards executing of projects that support various corporate goals related to safety, grid resiliency & modernization, reliability, and capital projects execution.

Department of Asset Mgt & Generation Strategy - Asset Performance Engineering, Condition Monitoring & Analytics Support over 40 power plants under generation portfolio. Provide condition assessment, equipment reliability, asset optimization, plant engineering, performance reporting, and work management for assets within Generation, includes gas fired combined cycle facility, gas fired simple cycle Peakers, Hydro, Battery Energy Storage, Rooftop solar, and Catalina diesel generation. Work closely with plant personnel, engineers, and project teams to perform technical assessments and make recommendations. • Perform protective relay system application, design, logic, and setting determination for utility distribution, transmission, generation, and balance of plant (BOP) • Provide test support for troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning: Doble Protection Suite, SEL AcSELerator QuickSET, SynchroWAVE Event, GE EnerVista, Beckwith IPScom, • Perform NERC PRC-001, 005, 019, 024, 025, 026 studies to ensure compliance and CAISO audits • Conduct protection failure analysis and make technical recommendations to mitigate the situation • Perform risk assessment and data analysis with SAP and provide mitigation plan • Manage ASPEN relay database and PRC-005 relay maintenance process • Familiar with electromechanically and microprocessor relays (GE, SEL, ABB, Beckwith, Basler…etc.), automation, communication protocol (Modbus, DNP 3.0, IEC 61850 GOOSE, Mirrored Bits) • Special projects – protection studies for black start generation resource cranking path testing , over 500MW- 4 hours fast track Reliability Utility Owned Energy Storage

Responsible for power system capital improvement design, construction and maintenance projects for the department's power grid, power delivery substations, automated control and protection systems, telecommunications systems, other power systems and facilities. Ensure compliance with NERC, WECC reliability, Cal/OSHA, and other industry and safety standards. Preparation of RFIs for design and construction projects, conducts highly complex systems analysis and reliability studies, preparation of complex substation protective relays and communication SCADA settings for equipment installations/replacements, wiring, control, protection, metering, and communications. Monitors, investigates, analyzes, and responds to or oversees response to power delivery system issues and equipment malfunctions or failures on an on-going basis; directs preparation of power outage analysis reports.

Review and analyze daily relay operations in responding to an electrical system disturbance or anomalies, make appropriate recommendation/resolution for mitigation Perform system studies, provide protection requirements for design, review and sign off one-line, elementary, logic diagrams to support transmission and distribution substation expansion, instrumentation and control projects. Gather and evaluate equipment data and model systems on appropriate software tool, such as CAPE, perform short circuit studies, protection coordination studies necessary for completing relay settings, coordinate relay settings with neighboring utilities, balancing authorities and perform other required assignments meeting WECC and NERC PRC compliances Design Remedial Action Scheme (RAS) and present to WECC RAS Reliability Subcommittee for approval. Issue settings via ASPEN relay database and create commissioning test procedures.

Engineering and Design of substation electrical facilities (4kV - 500kV) Develops scope of work and provides engineering support for on ongoing operational needs to support service reliability and meet WECC and NERC PRC compliance requirements. Coordinating with multiple disciplines to determine scope and cost for interconnecting generators and large customer load to the SCE grid. Reading, editing and creating single-line, schematic, wiring diagram, and the equipment layouts that illustrate substation components. Interacting and supporting other departments and entities (i.e. governmental agencies, other utilities, etc.) including project development activities such as permitting and licensing, construction, operation, and maintenance of equipment.

Responsible for the operations and optimization of the content management systems for both the Bank's public web site and Intranet site. Act as liaison group between Marketing, IT, HR, eCommerce and other departments in the Bank in coordination of inputs and deliverable. Responsibilities include administrate & troubleshooting in content management system for both intranet and the Bank’s public web site, identify enhancement requests to deliver superior online experiences, and ensuring system performance in functional and compliant using combination of technology, business and operations expertise. Project management: Assist development of business requirements and project plans.
