Sarah Appleman

Sarah Appleman MS, OTR/L is a published Author, Speaker and Pediatric Occupational Therapist for the past 24 years. Sarah holds a master’s degree from Touro College in Occupational Therapy; She specializes in early intervention in children diagnosed with Sensory Processing Dysfunction. Sarah has worked as a senior therapist, supervisor and mentor. Sarah was also a supervisor for School Districts, worked in home care as well as outpatient facilities Sarah Co-Owned Paws 4 Peds in Long Beach New York, a unique facility that combined Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy while incorporating 2 dogs, 2 Hermans Tortoises, and A Mali Uromastyx lizard for animal assisted therapy. This facility inspired Sarah to write her first book, “Paw Prints” a Handwriting curriculum utilizing a multisensory approach to handwriting. In her newly released book, “Play With Your Food”, Sarah combines her passions of working with special needs population and baking. Through fun, therapeutic interventions, activities and tips, she guides caretakers and children to enjoy the participation in the food preparation with fun games, while improving the food tolerance of picky eaters. Sarah has been published in magazines, papers and recently appeared on KUSI, a San Diego, California station to talk about Autism during Autism awareness month. Sarah was featured in Purewow as well as Romper.com as an expert in her field. She lives in San Diego with her husband and two children. Her vision is to help children worldwide overcome their food aversions, integrate their food repertoire while building their fine motor skills, memories and confidence.
