My research project involves the fabrication of a partially porous mandibular prosthesis using the selective laser melting technology and validating it using finite element analysis and mechanical fracture analysis. Experiences: •Mammalian cell cultures (2D & 3D cultures), in vitro cytotoxicity assays and osteogenesis-related investigations including RNA isolation, protein isolation, quantitative RT-PCR, SEM, immunofluorescence, and fluorescence microscopy. •3D design & modelling, lattice generation, topology optimization, FFF prototyping, SLM prototyping & validation, finite element analysis, and surface and material characterization. •Fusion 360, Netfabb ultimate, Meshmixer, Avizo, Slicer, GraphPad Prism, ImageJ. Administrative duties: •Management of consumables inventory. •Management of grants’ expenses. •Biological and chemical spills responder. •Established 2 successful collaborations. Training duties: •Trained PhD student and fellowship student on cell culture, aseptic handling, and assays. •Training and guiding students on immunofluorescence staining process and usage of fluorescence microscope (Leica DMI8 and LASX).
