Sanjana Santhosh

As a CETS Student Assistant, I support Georgetown’s instructional technology operations across multiple academic buildings by providing real-time classroom technology support, audiovisual setup, troubleshooting, and frontline customer service for faculty, staff, and students. I work closely with Classroom Managers to ensure smooth classroom operations, maintain AV equipment, manage technology requests, and assist with campus-wide teaching and learning infrastructure.

As a Summer Conference Lead for Georgetown Residential Living, I supervise a team of five Conference Assistants, oversee more than $1 million in client contracts, and coordinate housing logistics for over 1,000 conference guests from across the country.

Learned how Sponsor’s Phase 4 study is managed operationally, gaining exposure to study startup workflows, subject tracking processes, documentation practices, and safety follow-up activities. • Gained experience reviewing data within EDC/eCRF systems and understanding how source data verification (SDV/SDR) is performed to ensure accuracy and completeness. • Observed how regulatory binders and TMF/eTMF documentation are maintained, and learned the standards required for inspection readiness, including ICH-GCP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and internal SOP compliance. • Learned the fundamentals of SAE/AE tracking, protocol deviation documentation, and how regulatory submission packets are prepared for inspectors. • Shadowed a CRA during a Phase 3 flu vaccine monitoring visit, learning how Veeva Clinical is used during site visits, how subject data is reviewed, how informed consent forms (ICFs) are verified, and how patient safety and essential regulatory documents are assessed. • Gained exposure to cross-functional interactions across clinical, regulatory, and CMC teams, observing how documentation and communication are aligned across functions. • Learned about inspection-readiness practices, including document QC, risk-based monitoring principles, and how clinical trial files are organized.

Currently working under the mentorship of Dr. Kyle DiVito on a research project focused on the development of synthetic blood vessels using SVEC 4-10 and HUVEC endothelial cell lines.

- Delivered lectures on biotechnology, genomics, lab safety, and experimental design - Trained students in foundational lab techniques: micropipetting, buffer prep, notebook documentation, and quality practices - Led wet-lab experiments including – E. coli genomic and plasmid DNA extraction – Restriction digests, PCR amplification, gel electrophoresis – Blue/white cloning, ligation, and transformation – Protein analysis using PAGE and enzyme assays (Bradford, β-galactosidase) – mRNA analysis by RT-PCR and human forensic PCR – GMO testing using PCR; allergen testing using ELISA and LFA - Yeast toxicity assays and C. elegans alcohol exposure studies - CRISPR transformations and clone genotyping - Introduced students to bioinformatics workflows for sequence analysis and CRISPR design - Mentored students on data interpretation, troubleshooting, and scientific communication
