Sandra Reding

Joined the Aksarben Foundation as President in 2017 and works alongside the Aksarben Board of Directors to develop and deploy action around business-led, outcome-oriented initiatives across the state of Nebraska, both by industry and by region. Overseeing and implementing the strategic direction of the Foundation and the entire Aksarben network - including the Nebraska Tech Collaborative, Northeast Nebraska Growing Together, Full-Value Ag, and InternNE - all "Powered by Aksarben". With over twenty-five years in not-for-profit leadership, relationship cultivation, fundraising, and vast experience in higher education and scholarship administration, Sandra brings a strong knowledge of leadership and has a proven track record of driving results, engagement, and activation. She develops and implements an annual fundraising plan at levels necessary to achieve goals and ensures financial and other internal processes are documented and followed. Sandra recevied her Bachelor's from Briar Cliff University and a Master's Degree from Iowa State. She is a graduate of the Leadership Nebraska program (Class XI) and a Trustee of the Business Ethics Alliance of Omaha.

Created and implemented strategic vision to ensure the organization’s mission, program, and services were administered with transparency and integrity. Worked closely with Board of Directors. Oversaw all aspects of governance, finance, human resources, and community relations while serving as chief fundraising officer, managing a major gift portfolio of $12M. Developed and implemented comprehensive fundraising program and planned giving structure.

Responsible for all aspects of fundraising, exceeding annual benchmarks, and ensuring appropriate management and disbursement of funds. Raised $17MM in revenue toward campus master plan redesign and addition of sculpture garden. Led the architectural, artistic, and construction team, completing project goals on time and under budget. Secured an operating endowment retiring the Museum’s bond debt, and managed $50M endowment fund. Cultivated relationships with major donors, matching their interests with campaign goals.

Directed and implemented $12MM capital campaign to create a Botanical Garden for the city of Omaha, including a visitor center and new gardens. Worked closely with the lead benefactor and other key donors to secure major gifts. Created and implemented the first membership, annual fund, and marketing programs. Worked closely with community volunteers to create the first Garden Guild. Served as a member of the executive management team.
