• Designed Electronic Shelve Labelling (ESL) accessories and electronic computing weighing scale components using CADware Siemens NX and DraftSight; Products include double-sided telescopic pole stand, T-hook, shelve rails, dove tail clips, wall mount and table mount • Evaluated client's concerns and criteria whilst considering cost, manufacturability (plastic injection moulding, sheet metal, ultrasonic welding), aesthetics, mechanical strength and durability • Prototyped products using 3D printing; Conducted temperature tests in heating/cooling chambers and underwater submerge test to ensure suitable IP ratings • Analysed Moldflow results (fill time, injection pressure, temperature, weld line) and screened samples using ultrasonic cutter (unacceptable cosmetic textures, warpage, ejection pins, parting line, lifter locations); Resolved issues by making suitable adjustments to CAD drawings

• Designed and modelled a passive mechanism using Xfoil and SolidWorks to harvest wind energy for an autonomous surface vehicle to navigate the ocean indefinitely • Evaluated attaching solar cells and battery on the ASV to power a 10W operating system so sensors on the boat are powered for at least three days without exposure to sunlight • Optimised forward thrust of the ASV by accounting for a magnitude of variables and undergoing a series of meticulous calculations and iteration • Executed experiments at DSO’s water tank with a 3D printed prototype to simulate conditions at sea; and validated findings from calculations and 3D simulations
