Samuel Vidal Mussi

Executive leader with nearly 20 years of experience contributing to innovation strategy, R&D leadership and portfolio governance across pharmaceutical and life sciences organizations. Throughout my career, I have focused on connecting science, technology and business needs to support sustainable pipeline development and long-term value creation. I am particularly motivated by strengthening innovation governance and helping multidisciplinary teams translate advanced science into practical, patient-relevant solutions. My background combines deep expertise in drug delivery systems and nanotechnology with experience in senior decision-making, portfolio prioritization and disciplined execution. Currently, I lead and support the regional technical and innovation agenda at Colorcon for the Southern Cone, working at the interface between global technology strategy and regional business execution. In this role, I collaborate closely with global R&D, commercial and leadership teams, as well as external partners, to align advanced technology platforms with customer, market and regulatory needs. Previously, I held senior R&D leadership responsibilities at Aché Laboratórios, where I governed end-to-end development activities across Rx, generics, OTC, nutraceuticals and dermocosmetics, contributing to portfolio governance, innovation frameworks and the integration of advanced technologies into the pipeline. Earlier in my career, I served as Head of Innovation & Development at Abbott Laboratories (EPD Brazil), where I was directly involved in the strategic transformation of the local development organization, including portfolio prioritization, organizational redesign and the implementation of agile, right-first-time development models aligned with global R&D strategy. At an earlier stage, I founded and led Brazil’s first pharmaceutical nanotechnology research center, helping bridge academic research and industrial application and supporting the integration of advanced drug-delivery technologies into development pipelines. I am recognized for a collaborative leadership style, strong scientific rigor and an enterprise mindset, with a consistent focus on aligning technology, people and strategy to enable sustainable innovation and meaningful business outcomes.
