At 16 years old I joined Camden Maine Fire Department where I was first exposed to a chain of command structured employment. I obtained 500+ hours of leadership training, communication, and basic teamwork skills. During my 6 years in fire service, I achieved certifications in crisis management, first officer on scene, communication, team building, CPR, EVOC-AVOC, AED and countless other basic management trainings. I began working toward my undergraduate degree in Conservation Law Enforcement at Unity College, but shortly after beginning my first semester I realized it was not my calling. I wanted to follow the great American dream of becoming an entrepreneur. My father owned a small cannabis business at the time, and I joined his team. Starting from the bottom, I learned every aspect of the business. From cultivation and inventory, to processing and retail, I was exposed to everything, including massive reinvestment for expansion. I earned the respect of all employees along the way through work ethic, dedication, strategic thinking, and teamwork. in the past 5 years I have grown from cultivation assistant to Chief Executive Officer while the company has grown from 2 retail stores and 12 employees to 12 retail stores and 100+ employees. Along the way I obtained hands on experience in leadership and management. I hired teams, built new job descriptions, added departments, secured real estate, engineered and designed retail, manufacturing, and cultivation facility's all while working with extremally tough, ever changing, rules and regulations set by the state’s cannabis enforcement agency. I've hired, fired and I've lost more than once, but at the end of the day my determination always brings me back on top. Through the knowledge I gained while expanding Cannabis Cured into one of the biggest cannabis company's in the state of Maine, I have been able to diversify my own portfolio. I closed on my first real estate investment property last spring, which is a 4 unit 8000sf commercial property. In the first 6 months of owning the property I increased positive cash flow by over 10% by advertising and thoroughly screening new successful businesses. During this past year I also took over a small medical cannabis operation that was going out of business. I have since turned it into a profitable company by securing solid wholesale outlets and investing in the operation to increase quality and quantity. I am currently working on a 2-year plan with my executive team to continue to diversify our products and maintain longevity for our company.
