At Orbital, we believe that communication among people (and things) improve lives. Satellite and wireless systems make high-speed connectivity ubiquitous, bringing people and advanced systems together globally. Orbital develops and markets premium satellite communication equipment to commercial, governments, military sectors, to enable ground, air and space-borne applications. I worked with a team of talented and experienced engineers, technologists and production specialists to produce customized low noise amplifiers, frequency-downconverters, frequency references, redundant systems and a wide variety of system interface products. We operate under an ISO9001 & AS9100 certified quality management system.

Worked with a brilliant and dedicated team of engineers, scientists and executives to develop the AEGIS, an artificial intelligence guided electro-mechanical system that, when integrated into an X-ray fluoroscopy system, reduces radiation exposure to both patients and medical staff by up to 90% without compromising the image quality thanks to real-time image image processing. Managed the project through the transition from research to commercial production. Through industry, ingenuity and a shared vision, the evolving team achieved: - FDA clearance in 33 months, - A second FDA submission in in 38 months, - revenue in 40 months; Led and contributed to engineering (systems, product, electrical), project management, quality assurance, risk management, production, procurement, vendor management, regulatory compliance, intellectual properties and process development.

At Kensington, we believe personal electronics and technologies should be smart, safe and simple to use. I worked with a team of systems, product, quality and compliance engineers to deliver office products, personal electronics and accessories to enhance the usability and user experience of laptops, tablets and smartphones. Working with ODMs, contractors and internal teams, we delivered dozens of home-grown, customized and white label products annually, contributing design, verification & validation, global regulatory compliance and intellectual properties. In the course of delivering products, I have      ● Built an engineering team that supported 30 to 50 successful project deliveries a year      ● Created integrated engineering processes      ● Chaired the Intellectual Property Council and pushed through 30+ patent applications in 2 years      ● Developed and managed business relationships with partners & vendors to facilitate (early)         technology adoption      ● Conducted research in radio, video, audio, data communications, power and sensor technologies

Improved design quality and reliability of a touch screen controller through root cause analyses and corrective redesigns; lowered economic losses through yield improvement. Achieved electromagnetic compatibility (regulatory compliance): wrote specifications, commissioned, coordinated and directed tests.

Planned and executed concurrent safety assessment projects with cross-functional teams and external resources from scoping to billing.

● Codeveloped a novel voltage transducer (VT) for measuring high voltages (x100kV), from concept to field installation ● Managed the development of the VT's power supply system, from initial design to delivery, covering scope, schedule, budget, quality, procurement, stakeholder and risk management ● Managed EMC and product safety activities in multiple external and internal facilities - established specifications and directed test service providers ● Founded a health and safety committee, initiated a safety program, drafted the policy,    administered training and achieved WorkSafeBC compliance

     ● Led the development of a distributed antenna array for GSM radio signal re-distribution,         completed functional prototypes in 8 months with 5 engineers working on 4 modules      ● Co-designed a 1.9GHz bi-directional repeater-amplifier for CDMA (IS95) applications

Studied communications systems, fiberoptics, microwave engineering; Conducted original research in optical fiber testing, non-destructive through-cladding extraction and injection, RF circuits and optoelectronics applications

The program includes in-depth studies of project management principles covering all knowledge areas of the PMBoK 5th edition by the Project Management Institute and related management practices. The program includes a final exam and simulated project for which the participants developed or refined their own project management tools and templates.
