Sameer Merchant

Sameer Merchant is the MD & CEO of Laxmi Dental Limited, a state-of-the-art dental lab. A Certified Dental Technician (CDT) who started his entrepreneurial journey in 2001 by co-founding Illusion Dental with Rajesh Khakhar. A lifelong learner and innovator, Sameer has travelled extensively to Japan, Italy, Germany, USA, UK, and Liechtenstein to master advanced dental techniques and technologies. Over the last two decades, Sameer has emerged as a category creator and an industry disruptor. He has introduced pioneering dental products through ventures like Taglus (under Vedia Solutions) and Kids-e-Dental, a pediatric dentistry brand. Under the combined leadership of Rajesh and Sameer, Laxmi Dental became a publicly listed company in 2025 and continues to scale across multiple verticals: dental labs, orthodontic and pediatric innovation. He has served as a Key Opinion Leader for global brands including Noritake, Shofu, and Dentsply, and has trained professionals in Singapore, Malaysia, and across India. Sameer also pioneered the EnE (Education & Experience) model to promote digital dentistry, enabling the nationwide deployment of iScanPro intraoral scanners. A strategic thinker with a tooth maker's mindset, he is known for building brands that merge science, design and access with a guiding belief: “When everything we use is branded, then why not teeth?”
