Intake Counselor, 10/2013-Present: daily duties include providing diagnostic and treatment related services to clients, provide pharmaceutical and psychoeducation for potential clients and families, screen clients for admission to Level III.7 medically-monitored detox or Level III.5 inpatient rehab, create and update necessary client and agency records, verify insurance benefits and eligibility, obtain pre-authorization for insurance, provide information regarding program, provide referral sources, participate in staff in-services Receptionist, 11/2011-9/2013 - daily duties include greeting visitors and clients, answering telephones, directing calls to appropriate staff member, receiving detoxification and rehabilitation payments from clients both in person and over the telephone, entering payments in Profiler system, directing clients to lectures and group meetings, assist support staff with clerical duties, adhere to all federal and state regulations.

Conducted phone screens with potential clients to determine appropriate levels of care based on ASAM criteria for inpatient rehabilitation, corresponded with healthcare providers to ensure client receives appropriate level of care, consulted with staff to determine appropriateness of potential clients for inpatient treatment.

Responsibilities included providing clients with case management services, counseling/therapy, assisted clients with activities of daily living and skills training, medication training, provided crisis intervention, provided linkage to community resources, advocated for clients, performed assessments, and developed and updated treatment plans.

Daily responsibilities include facilitating/co-facilitating MISA groups, complete intakes within hospital detox unit, complete intakes scheduled by hospital's central access services, record individual and group progress notes, assess treatment options based on client's needs, engage in individual counseling sessions when scheduled, create and implement treatment plans based on client's needs, returned phone calls to clients in need of outpatient services.
