In this position, I work directly with the Director to run day-to-day operations. I also utilize various insights, analytics, and editing programs, such as Adobe Photoshop, to create fresh content and optimize user engagement (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter), I cut archival footage to create original works for promotion and documentation of housing and environmental activism, I designed marketing material, researched potential films, and contacted local sponsors for the 7th annual film festival, “Offensive Fences,” and I assisted in the set-up of the current exhibit about grassroots activism in the East Village.

As an Access Coach, I prepared 25 students for both the college application process and the SAT. For three hours every week, we covered the basics of the application process--common application, financial aid, making a decision--and the Reading Comprehension and English sections of the SAT. In allotting time for individual conferences and group work, Let's Get Ready's mission is centered around peer-to-peer mentorship.

In this position, I assist the program's director in researching free expression issues in the US, such as the vandalization and taking down of murals across the US and the makings of a media literacy education. Additionally, I drafted a cover letter for a petition against the banning of books in US prisons that was sent to Congress.

As one of NYU's Admissions Ambassadors, I play a key role in our campus's recruitment efforts. After being chosen from a highly selective applicant pool, I went through extensive training to handle confidential documents at the Undergraduate Admissions offices' reception desks in both Manhattan and Brooklyn, to answer admissions questions and offer advice to NYU applicants on the admissions phone line, give hour-long tours around campus to prospective students and their parents, and work special campus events.
