Working in the PE department within this school allowed me to work in an ever changing dynamic environment involving young children. I needed drive and commitment to complete this placement because it was challenging, but it was something I thrived on and brought the best out of me.

Working within a gym allowed me to become familiar with a gym environment and enabled me to gain experience of working alongside fitness professionals, which improved my own knowledge of health and fitness. Interpersonal and communication skills were critical in this position as I took new members on inductions and helped members with any health and fitness queries.

Being the duty manager of a football centre has involved a high level of responsibility and has enabled me to learn key management skills. The level of authority that this role offers, has allowed me to gain confidence in delivering and maintaining a successful business, that offers a variety of football based services to different members of the public. Being the manager involves working independently in the branch and means that every aspect of the business is reliant upon myself. Making key decisions is an important part of the job and they are needed across various aspects of the business, such as advertising and marketing through to the financial spend. The experience of being in charge is something that I have thrived on and has developed my independence and responsibility that will aid me in my future career.
