In 1987 I founded the Hong Kong Cancer Fund (“HKCF”). Under my leadership as Founder and CEO, the HKCF has become the leading cancer support organisation in Hong Kong. HKCF’s works addresses all aspects of psychosocial cancer care and prevention, including cancer support, home care, information, education, research and hospital funding. Its mission is to ensure no one faces cancer alone. My steadfast belief that no one should face cancer alone has led to the gradual growth of the HKCF’s service network, instigating collaboration with the Hospital Authority and medical professionals to promote seamless cancer care. In 2019-2020, we had over 3,000 new clients reach out to us for our much needed free professional services. Our professional teams offered more than 926 specialised programmes, over 2,000 sessions with more than 23,300 attendances throughout our network. Today, HKCF’s network comprises of seven Cancer Patient Resource Centres throughout major public hospitals in Hong Kong; four Cancer Fund Support Centres in the community (Hong Kong Island, Kowloon East and the newly opened centre in Kwai Chung); a Hotline service.. All of HKCF's services are free of charge. HKCF receives no money from the Hong Kong Government or the Community Chest.
