Leading as a community dedicated to promoting the benefits of technology in education and the growing education technology exports from New Zealand, EdTechNZ has an active programme of work, including events, research, working groups and projects. We work closely with members, educators and relevant Government bodies to increase the access to, quality and impact of education through innovative technology, for the benefit of educators and learners in Aotearoa New Zealand and around the world.

As an experienced educational senior executive leader, I bring my own experiences and deep understanding of the challenges faced across the K12 school sector. I drive business relationships and work closely with educational leaders and technology leaders across Australia, New Zealand (ANZ) and globally, to enable them to solve challenges and achieve their strategic business outcomes.

The role leads and develops tactical plans and initiatives to support student engagement and opportunities through the development of business operations of DE International, the management of the Community Languages Schools Program and delivery of languages programs through the 14 centres of the Saturday School of Community Languages.

The role provides high level strategic leadership in the management, facilitation, development, delivery and evaluation of state-wide services and specialist programs to support student engagement and opportunities, including Assisted School Travel Program, Arts, Sports, Community Languages and DE International as well as supporting students with disability, mental health and complex needs, aligned with the Department's student outcome priorities.

The role leads and develops tactical plans and initiatives to support the Deputy Secretary in relation to high level executive, secretariat, and project services, including providing strategic advice, managing communications and implementing strategies to support the achievement of the Department’s strategic and operational objectives.

The Director, School & Business Systems provides state wide leadership and strategic advice for the implementation of initiatives and reforms that are forward focused and responsive to educational, social and technological developments to prepare all students in NSW public schools to meet the challenges of a dynamic regional and global future. Managing the Virtual Learning and Environment (DevOps) team, Professional Learning Non-Teaching Staff (PLNTS) team, IT Engagement team, Business Engagement & Development team, the PMO servicing internal business clients as well as the Project Sponsor for the Student Administration and Management Program and the High Performing Students Program delivering against the actions from the Selective Education Equity Access Review (2018). The Director is part of a collaborative, consultative executive team working closely with the Executive Director in the development, implementation and review of strategies, systems and processes to achieve the department's strategic directions.

Whilst undertaking normal duties of the Director, School & Business Systems, I also took on the additional duties of leading the strategic coordination of activities to support the Continuity of Education in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic enabling the delivery of the 'Learning from Home' hub to support Principals, Teachers, Parent/Carers and Students during the lockdown and throughout the remainder of the year as individual schools or communities went back into lockdown in response to a positive COVID-19 case. I led multiple teams in the delivery of commercial contracts with 3rd party online learning tool software developers across a broad range of curriculum areas from K-12; the delivery of professional learning for school-based non-teaching staff focussing on both leadership, school staff wellbeing, and use of IT systems; and the overall governance and reporting of the workstreams undertaken by the taskforce and the independent review of the outcomes achieved by the CoE taskforce work in response to COVID-19. I was a contributing writer to the final NSW Department of Education COVID-19 Outcomes Report presented to the NSW Government.

Short-term role before relocating to Sydney with a focus to come in and build a Project Management Office (PMO) introducing a project management framework, governance framework, and reporting templates to support the maturity of the UNSW-ADFA IT service. At the same time, this was being implemented, this was applied to the following projects that were in-flight or started: 1. UNSW-ADFA Website redevelopment: implementation of a new website and student/staff portal working with UNSW Kensington 2. UNSW-ADFA Data Centre Upgrade: the phsyical upgrade of servers and layout to support a more efficient and cost effective data centre to meet the future needs of the campus 3. UNSW-ADFA Desktop Upgrade: Upgrading all desktop devices to WIN8 across the faculty computer rooms

Project Manager working on a number of projects contracted by Australian Government Agencies in the infrastructure and technology/cyber-security area. This role incorporated being a team player that reported to the Project Director or Program Manager of large-scale projects as well as small to medium-sized projects. Writing tender responses and preparing project status reports as well as meeting with clients other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the project was met on time and on budget within the scope of the works as per the contract.

The role of Project Administrator working initially on the Austin Health Redevelopment Project in Heidelberg with NSW Health before working on other hospital developments and redevelopments with NSW Health (Royal Children's Hospital, The Alfred Centre along with others) and St John of God Healthcare - Berwick Hospital. Managing internal audits to maintain ISO certification as well as document management and collation of status project reports for governance meetings. Formerly Atkinson Project Management before merging with Connell Wagner in 2006 prior to rebranding as Aurecon.
