I was on the start up of this business, handling all P&L, budgeting, staff recruitment, training and managing performance to meet and exceed sales targets. I also negotiated sales, set targets and attended seminars and promotional events to build the business as well as managing a fleet of vehicles including overseeing all servicing, repairs and legal compliance.

Working within the Housing and Legal departments of Medway Council my role was to investigate circumstances relating to empty properties and instigate all necessary action, including enforcement to bring them back into use. Manage requests for service to empty homes and determine appropriate action. Meeting Council targets working within the legal framework undertaking inspections and serving Improvement Notices where appropriate. Preparation of court documentation and representing the Council at any Court Hearings

Coming from previous roles in strategic enforcement and credit control in local government and private sector I was well qualified to take on this position looking after residential sites across Kent. I worked with contractors to get repairs and improvements achieved within budgets and collaborated with multi agency partners to improve relationships, circumstances and opportunities. It really was a multifaceted and often hands on role and as well as handling applications, admissions and exits for residential sites, rent and utility payments I also supported them with all the paperwork surrounding benefit and entitlement claims, correspondence and communications. Leadership of a team of Community Liaison Managers, P&L, Budgeting and financial reporting. As well as risk assessments I also evaluated initiatives to ensure cost effective use of resources including the reduction of the carbon footprint. The development of new policy initiatives for residential provision across Kent. I also supported new projects and represented KCC on advisory boards and at stakeholder meetings.

Following a brief career break to attend to an elderly relative, I took on this interim role and it was terrific fun!. Totally diverse accommodating all aspects of daily operations at this highly customer focused park,including promotions management and media enquries.
