---For my Aerospace Engineering senior design project, my team developed a real-time obstacle-avoidance and path-planning algorithm for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The system combines Artificial Potential Fields (APF) with a predictive look-ahead controller to safely guide a UAV through dynamic, cluttered environments. I lead the design and implemented the MATLAB simulation environment, including real-time dynamic obstacle generation and sensing. Developed the core Predictive APF algorithm, enabling the UAV to evaluate multiple future trajectories and avoid collisions. Built the local-minima recovery system using waypoint injection to prevent spiraling and ensure continuous forward motion. Created visualization and testing tools to support integration into the team’s Simulink flight-dynamics model. Technical Focus: MATLAB, autonomous navigation, APF optimization, dynamic environments, collision avoidance, trajectory smoothing, UAV guidance.
