Private Equity family office acquiring businesses/assets from corporates for turnaround. - Established relationships with companies' corporate development functions to source deals. - Lead deals in research, due diligence, price negotiation, etc. - Spearheaded the sourcing expansion into Asia (especially Japan), a new market for the company.

Multi-Stage Investment arm spun off of Blackstone that backed companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Spotify, Alibaba ● Actively contributed to deal sourcing, due diligence, fundraising, negotiations, and portfolio management. ● Conducted industry research in Deep Tech (AI/ML, Metaverse, Robotics, Supply Chain, etc.) and developed investment theses in the field. ● Built a network in the industry and individually closed a $1mm LP commitment from a Japanese investor while supporting partners in other LP engagements. ● Led recruiting, onboarding, and training of a newly hired associate.

For Asia-focused fundamental long/short equity fund founded by ex-Tiger manager (known as one of the "Tiger cubs" hedge funds), worked closely with the portfolio manager to evaluate investment opportunities. I conducted market research, company due diligence, investment thesis building, financial modeling and analysis, and pitched my ideas to the portfolio manager. Was responsible for the Japan Consumer Retail and Consumer Tech markets coverage.

General Industries Group (mainly covering Consumer retail, Heavy industries, Healthcare, Chemical, etc) On selected projects below, assigned the main contact role between our team, client, all internal departments, and external advisors while also serving as lead documents driver. Often worked directly with a Managing Director on pharmaceutical pitches, a rare IBD team structure. - Assigned to “elephant deal”: Mitsubishi Chemical’s issuance of convertible bond ($1.5bn, Mar’17). - Asahi Group Holdings’ issuance of euro-yen bond ($1.5bn, Sep’17). - Astellas’ divestiture of long-listed drugs ($200mm, Apr’17). - Sumitomo Corporation’s acquisition of Fyffes ($800mm, Dec’16)
