Strategic Leadership & Crisis Response: Designed and implemented the humanitarian response strategy for the Ukraine crisis in Belgium, reporting directly to the CEO. Mission opening

In this most recent role, I acted as in-country Field Coordinator and Technical Advisor for OFDA, as part of USAID, during the Ebola response, associated strategy and implementation of a critical intervention strategy. As a necessary aspect of this, I developed a strong network of stakeholders, both internationally and regionally, to report and advise OFDA on the evolution of the situation, and to provide meaningful support to OFDA’s Ebola intervention strategy. To ensure the efficacy of the response, I also provided follow-up on the coordination between the donor community and the Ministry of Health regarding all strategic aspects of the response. As a key advisor for OFDA consultants in the region, I designed, implemented and managed administration, financial and security procedures, as well as overall organization for training MoH staff.

Operating at the head of the Refugees and Host Community mission, I worked to develop a bespoke and innovative intervention approach, covering the core aspects of protection, legal assistance, health, economic empowerment and education. During this period of acute financial uncertainty, it was necessary to adopt a new approach that took into account the changing situation in the country, which involved reviewing and realigning the strategy to better position the NGO and develop a strong programme portfolio. I helped foster clear lines of communication with donors and attract new partners to secure and finalise winning proposals. With overall management responsibilities for the Syria Crisis operations, I handled a €12.4m budget and developed a €30m consortium with the DRC for undocumented refugees.

With Créajob, I represented the company on a regional level and helped recruit for the business incubator, providing project analysis and support to those future entrepreneurs that took up the programme.. My support ranged across the programme, in market analysis, marketing, product development and business planning, designed specifically to give each entrepreneur the best shot at success. As a matter of course, I developed the business incubator opportunities and innovative approaches for clients, supporting the design of business plans, developing and leading trainings and monitoring clients’ business evolution, with needs-based support.

In this brief contract role, I connected and coordinated the successful merger of two hospitals (317 beds) into a single site. I aided the conception and ongoing fine-tuning of the merger according to the various departments' ongoing needs. It was necessary that I supervise construction of the new wing and reorganise all the non-medical departments accordingly. Throughout my time in this position, I managed patient, staff and volunteer transferral, in close partnership with the General Director, Medical Director and deputies. I was also fully responsible for the coordination and change guidance of all non-medical staff.
