• Responsible for uptime and availability optimization of mining fleet and mining support asset maintenance management. • Managing the workshop maintenance team, activities and assets. • Did conceptual design of maintenance facility, power generation unit selections, processing plant water supply pump selection, and earthmoving equipment selection for proposed new mining and processing project. • Employee engagement, job rotation, and increased task autonomy among others were used to increase staff motivation resulting in a reduced rate of absenteeism, increased manhours, and productivity as well as improved OEE values ≥ 79% • Reduced MTTR indicator values on critical mining assets by quick thinking, modification of engineering systems and improvement of part-order systems.

• Technical analysis of longstanding fault on vibratory system of CS563 compactor led to resolution of vibration problem by modifying excavator motor to work on compactor (reducing estimated 4-5 weeks downtime due to parts ETA to just 1 week). • Longstanding transmission shift fault on Liebherr 556 loader fault led to resolution of fault increasing productivity and loading cycle time by about 60%. • Reduced routine preventive maintenance downtime on 3412 generators by 45 minutes due to implementation of improved oil drainage process.

• Managing the maintenance of a fleet of over 50 earth- moving equipment including dump trucks, track and wheel dozers, front-end and backhoe loaders, excavators and motor graders. • Responsible for the maintenance support of engines on boats, generators, lighting towers and slurry pumps. • Liaised with OEM dealers and acted as company representative for outsourced maintenance contracts with Caterpillar and Volvo/Mercedes. • Responsible for managing the mining workshop. • In charge of budget preparation and management as well as performance development program planning and monitoring. • Ensured that safety and environmental standards were maintained and improved on safety through development of SWIs, trainings, JHAs and various site initiatives. Key contributions/accomplishments: • Conceptualized and implemented shared pump priming system for 2 Godwin CD500 pumps after the failure of one priming system which was not readily available thereby avoiding shutdown of a mining processing plant. • Recommended and requested purchase of Caterpillar specially designed D9R dozer final drive guards for a unique premature failure problem causing over USD100,000 in replacements each year (hence making projected corresponding savings). • Drove a technical analysis and root cause failure analysis on frequent loader tyre and axle component failures in one processing plant location leading to equipment modifications, operational changes and infrastructural improvements that reduced failures by about 30% and spare part savings of more than USD 50,000 annually.

• Supervised the maintenance and repair operations of the mining heavy equipment fleet (Liebherrs, Caterpillars, and XCMGs), mining support equipment (water pumps, skid steer loaders, and power generation units), and Road construction heavy equipment. • Acted as the designated maintenance lead at the loading port operations for earthmoving equipment and power generation unit. Key contributions/accomplishments: • Assigned to port operational area and improved heavy equipment availability by over 40% within 4 months. • Designed a computerized maintenance management system as well as monthly reporting system that improved departmental efficiency and equipment monitoring.

• MBA student working part-time on the front desk at Whitbread's Luton Premier Inn • Responsible for bookings, check-ins, check-outs, cancellations, refunds, running end-of-day balancing and close-outs on computerized hospitality system while maintaining a hospitable atmosphere.

• Assisting various sections as a part of customer support unit in both front desk and background roles.

Especially valuable to me has been the area of Quality Management and Lean Principles and its use in Engineering services.
