As a SOC L1 Intern, I am responsible in identifying and responding to cyber threats. My daily tasks include monitoring security alerts, analyzing logs, escalating incidents based on severity, and ensuring quick and effective triage to maintain the organization’s security posture. Key responsibilities include: 🔹 Real-time monitoring of SIEM dashboards and security alerts 🔹 Initial investigation and triage of security incidents 🔹 Escalating complex incidents to Level 2 SOC 🔹 Conducting log analysis across various platforms (firewalls, endpoints, servers) 🔹 Creating incident reports and maintaining documentation 🔹 Supporting compliance with internal security policies and procedures

During my internship at Alpha Data, I gained valuable hands-on experience in cybersecurity and compliance research, with a strong focus on real-world applications in the healthcare and education sectors. Key highlights of my internship include: 🔹 Email Security Solutions – Gained knowledge in email security technologies, such as Checkpoint, Fortimail and etc and how they align with industry-specific threats such as phishing and spoofing. 🔹 Regulatory Compliance – Researched and analyzed regional and international compliance standards (such as UAE Data Protection Law, HIPAA, and FERPA), and learned how organizations can align their cybersecurity measures with these frameworks. 🔹 OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) Tools – Learned to ethically use OSINT tools to gather threat intelligence, support digital investigations, and enhance situational awareness. 🔹 Cybersecurity Research & Reporting – Conducted sector-based analysis to identify risk exposure and mapped compliance needs across multiple industries.
