I have 25 years of rich experience across various engineering functions with leadership in Automotive Product development, Powertrain and Electric Vehicle Technology. At present, Executive Vice President and Head of R&D and Technology for Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles, I am leading and guiding a motivated team of 700 people. I am responsible for Electric Vehicle and Fuel cell technology development and also spearheading complete product development including SCV, LMD, HD, Buses and Powertrains. I am also leading Connected solution and advance technology development for both trucks and buses. Responsibility areas also include Powertrain products planning, program management, Virtual validation, Accelerated Endurance, Cabin engg and Aftermarket technology. I am part of Executive Management and Technology Management team for Volvo Eicher JV and have developed state of art Euro VI engine range and Grounds up 2L/3L engines inhouse. I have been responsible for developing highly cost competitive and fuel efficient drivelines including innovative 7 speed TM, 9S TM, Single Reduction and Hub Reduction Tandem axles. I have led aggressive electric vehicle and connected vehicle programs for Volvo Eicher with Industry first introduction of advanced telematics solution and safe electric buses. I have extensive exposure of working in multi location environment for collaborating across global networks and partnerships and leading synergy program for technology collaboration with Volvo in areas of Engine Management System, Electronic features and Automation of manual transmissions. I have worked closely with reputed automotive suppliers to develop aggregates and product proceeding technologies in the area of Performance, Reliability, Safety and Total cost of ownership. I have developed many new technologies for the company and has led multiple innovations. I have many registered national and international patents. Postgraduate in Mechanical Design Engineering from IIT Bombay, I am US Fulbright Scholar and have completed fellowship for leadership in management from Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA.
