Over the years, I grew into larger roles, with entire responsibility of strategic sourcing & procurement for the Goa plant, a responsibility that has grown in terms of volume & value since 2006 up to now. I was handpicked to shoulder the critical responsibility of setting up the Strategic Sourcing team that caters to APAC region, encompassing Asia, Europe, USA & Australia, while additionally driving strategies for optimization of the entire Supply Chain functions. Over the years, I have handled the entire Procurement for Goa plant. The roles have revolved around Vendor Relationship Management, Cost Optimization, Global Sourcing, Localization, Logistics and Contract Management. My role has been pivotal in designing & driving strategic projects that have led to significant impact over the global business, including improvement in Gross Margin. The roles have entailed interviewing & developing long-term partnerships with local & foreign suppliers, while also implementing Global Supplier development Strategies to enhance supply performance of vendors to ensure meeting of service, cost, delivery as well as quality norms. I also oversaw implementation of Contract strategy including E-Sourcing processes and Supplier evaluation. Additionally, I directed the design & implementation of Global Logistics policies, improved logistics costs through RFQ, ERFQs .

Here, I directed procurements for raw materials and consumables. The role entailed management of import/Export logistics, custom clearance & documentation related to import of various engineering spares and machinery, Advance License/EPCG License. I also Managed entire C to C cycle of few overseas customer, managing the Order receipt, Production Scheduling ,Third Party Inspections, Export Documentation, Export Logistics & Payment receipts. During the tenure, I effectively implemented an effective JIT concept and developed quality sources for all the packaging Materials & Printing Consumables.

Here, I handled timely procurement of Project Materials/Equipment for Installation of the Project. I successfully handled designing, developing and implementing BAAN ERP system for procurement . During the tenure, I achieved savings in procurements of capital equipment through strong negotiations and through Export Oriented Unit-taxation benefits.

During these initial years, I initiated & implemented JIT concept for assemblies & components to reduce inventory carrying cost. I efficiently removed dead stock & obsolete /non-moving inventory by reusing them after modifications. As a part of my role, I drove strategy that successfully reduced freight costs by and implementing effective supply chain management activities through Local ancillary development.
