About
Senior Researcher with over 15 years (9+ years of Post-PhD) of research experience in molecular pharmacology, brain tumors, GBM, medical device, bioengineering, toxicology, and drug discovery and development. I have knowledge of state-of-the-art research in cancer biology, diabetes and its complications, fibrosis, and preclinical toxicity/safety with hands-on experience with a wide range of in-vivo and in-vitro experiments and techniques. Well-versed in experimental design and writing and submission of manuscripts and grant proposals. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and complete them well in time. During my Ph.D. and postdoctoral studies, I co-supervised the research/thesis projects of 20-plus master students and summer trainees.

Pharmacology and Toxicology
I investigated the role of histone acetylation in the pathogenesis of beta-cell dysfunctions, insulin-resistance, and diabetic nephropathy/fibrosis using selected HDAC inhibitors such as valproic acid and sodium butyrate. My findings provide mechanisms and insights that HDAC inhibitors are beneficial in diabetes and protect against beta-cell dysfunction as well as reduced insulin resistance and its renal complication. Taken together, HDAC inhibitors can exert several pharmacological effects through their chromatin-dependent and independent complex molecular signaling.

Pharmacology and Toxicology
Full-time Master's (MS Pharm.) student with one-year research dissertation at dept. of Pharmacology and Toxicology. worked on the influence of epigenetic modulation on the male reproductive system and colon toxicity of cyclophosphamide in mice.
