Research Executive / Analyst @ Intelligent People

About

I apply behavioural science, market intelligence, and applied analytics to help organisations make better decisions; with precision, speed, and a clear understanding of how people and systems behave. My work sits at the intersection of data, human behaviour, and organisational decision-making. As a Research Executive at Intelligent People, I deliver AI-augmented market intelligence and organisational research across UK, EMEA, and US markets, supporting executive hiring decisions at the £120k–£250k+ level. Beyond the core research function, I build the analytical infrastructure that makes that intelligence sharper; predictive lead scoring models in Python, funnel conversion analyses, supply and demand heatmaps, regression models identifying retention indicators, and longitudinal leadership datasets in SQL. Outputs are visualised through Power BI and Tableau and delivered to senior stakeholders to provide clarity. What separates my approach from pure analytics is the behavioural layer. My background is in psychology, with hands-on experience in experimental research, behavioural intervention design, and applied analysis. I've conducted independent research into spatial perception among elite athletes using virtual optic flow tasks and mixed ANOVA. I co-designed a behavioural intervention to increase COVID-19 vaccine uptake among Pakistani adults aged 65+ applying the COM-B framework and social norms theory. I've also produced policy-focused analysis on the impact of social media algorithms on political attitudes. This is rigorous, evidence-based work with real-world applications. I'm drawn to problems where the data alone doesn't give you the answer, where understanding behaviour, context, incentives, trust, and system design matters as much as the model. My broader interests sit across behavioural analytics, decision systems, human-centred technology, organisational intelligence, and complex digital environments. I’m particularly interested in how people interpret information, navigate systems, and make decisions inside commercial, technological, and risk-sensitive contexts. I intend to build a career that combines behavioural insight, analytical rigour, commercial understanding, and systems-level problem solving to help organisations make better decisions in complex environments.

Designed and built a behavioural anomaly detection framework applied to JD Sports store KPI data (52 weeks × 12 stores), investigating whether combinations of KPI deviations can serve as early warning signals for inventory loss risk — grounded in the fraud triangle and routine activity theory. Synthetic data simulation projects 71% of anomalies detectable up to one week in advance and 31% three weeks in advance, reframing the proposition from measuring loss to creating intervention windows. Built a Python anomaly detection pipeline using z-score standardisation and composite risk scoring across six KPI variables (transaction voids, return rate by SKU, attachment rate, GVOC, MPOS/kiosk utilisation, basket size variance) — chosen over Isolation Forest to prioritise explainability for operational deployment. Achieved 65.8% precision, 100% recall (F1: 0.79), with recall deliberately prioritised as a screening tool policy choice and threshold sensitivity documented across three calibration options. Delivered three outputs: a behavioural risk typology classifying four loss archetypes mapped to KPI signatures (transaction voids as dominant signal at 28% detection weight); a fully documented Python codebase published to GitHub; and a Tableau dashboard visualising store-level risk scores and contributing KPI deviations, designed for non-technical loss prevention users. Contextualised findings against JD Sports plc public financials (margin compression 10.5% → 9.4%; $132bn global retail shrinkage) — modelling a conservative £470k–£940k shrinkage reduction on a pilot cohort (upper bound £3.75m) and presenting outputs in the format of a commercial recommendation report addressed to a Head of Loss Prevention.
