Maintained all aspects of industrial hygiene programs for a facility of over 400 unionized and non-unionized personnel.

Provided EHS leadership and direction on occupational hygiene, emergency response, contractor management, incident investigation and personnel safety for the senior leadership team of Canada’s largest nitrogen chemical fertilizer manufacturing facility. - Reporting to the General Manager, provided direct supervision and mentoring to the facility’s team of four health and safety professionals. Built cross-training into the team to allow for team development and succession planning. - As the Chairperson for the CF Industries Corporate Safety Council, led and facilitated a team of EHS representatives for all North American CF facilities. Fostered a collaborative and engaged environment in a team of personnel with varied educational backgrounds and EHS experiences to address organizational EHS challenges.

Led a volunteer executive team of 10 EHS professionals to provide association members with a high level of cost effective services for their association dues. - The executive team organized five separate professional development conferences that generated high levels of member participation.

Develop and maintain all aspects of occupational/industrial hygiene programs designed to control occupational health hazards for facility personnel (200 non-unionized employees and 40 unionized embedded contractors). Examples of occupational health hazards that programs were established and maintained included asbestos, lead, radiation, noise, diesel exhaust, organic solvents, formaldehyde, refractory ceramic fibers, hexavalent chromium and welding fumes. Facilitate and lead quality improvement teams using the Juran process to resolve complex health and safety issues. Examples include: - Led a team that reduced spending on personal protective equipment (PPE) by over 11% without reducing personnel safety. Subsequently published an article regarding the results in the AIHA’s publication “The Synergist”. - Led a team to identify and resolve issues with Emergency Safety Showers and Eyewashes. Obtained senior management approval for capital funding for upgrades to 45 Safety Showers and Eyewashes.

Instructed the Occupational Hygiene courses for the College OHS program. - Developed a rapport with the students to ensure they are engaged and are successful in the course(s). Fostered a collaborative and interesting classroom environment to ensure the material is understood using various teaching methods.
