* Sidney Riverbend is a locked secure residential facility for 8 children requiring intensive emotional, mental, and educational provisions within a secure environment. Responsibilities included: * Provided individual and group counselling to cliental with severe emotional and behavioural disorders in a locked secure setting * Provided regular point of contact to families and/or guardian and actively engaged consumer’s family in development of treatment plan * Authored, allocated resources, and implemented client treatment plans * Sought and developed a network of appropriate community resources * Supervised program’s relief staff as a member of the program management team * Participated in on-call rotation as clinical supportive staff

* Hearthside is a residential facility for substance misuse treatment treating up to 12 individuals at any one time. Responsibilities included: * Provided individual and group counselling to adult male population suffering from substance abuse and dual diagnosis * Distributed medication to clients suffering from mental illness * Authored Extensive needs assessments for coordinating aftercare treatment * Transported cliental to and from appointments and AA meetings

* Conducted initial home and site visits to determine the initial course of action provided to a family by Social services, and compiled information into Initial and Core Assessments to ascertain appropriate relevant resources, and assess Child Protection concerns. * Chaired and participated in Children in Need’s meetings to best monitor the effectiveness of various agencies working with the client. * Inducted all new members of staff within the team and mentored Newly Qualified Social Workers in order to assure that they understood and work in accordance with Child Protection Procedures. * Attended external agency panels as Social Services representative to ensure families were allocated appropriate resources, in accordance with their needs.

Conducted on going weekly to monthly visits to children and their carers to ensure ongoing safety and stability of the children, as well as to monitor parents participation with their case plans. Authored Client Treatment Plans, Judicial Review, Termination of Parental Rights motions, and other legal documents to provide written evidence to the Courts with regards to the clients’ progress towards completion of Court assigned tasks. Network with professional groups including: Solicitors, Drug Treatment Providers, Jails, Domestic Violence organizations, schools, and other related treatment providers, in order to form a treatment network to ensure client has best possible treatment outcome. Acted as a liaison between the agency and the Monroe County Jail in order to help incarcerated clients actively participate in the completion of their case plans.

MCI Concord is a Level 4 State Prison that completes the processing and allocation to other detention centres of all inmates within the state prison system. Responsibilities included: Completed intake evaluations and mental health needs assessment for incoming inmates regarding mental health needs. Provided individual formal counselling with a caseload of 10-15 clients, to an incarcerated population with a variety of issues ranging from: Behavioural issues, Substance Abuse Treatment, Suicidality, Severe mental illness, Family Struggles, Poverty, Racism, and Adjustment to incarceration Formulated initial mental health treatment plans and complete treatment plan updates to ensure that all inmates’ mental health needs are properly met. Provided crisis intervention to inmates in need of immediate services.

* ♦ Provided 1:1 supervision of staff with regards to case management and supervisees work related needs. * ♦ Coached and mentor new staff to work within a large organisation and develop both personal and professional growth. * ♦ Offered trainings to professional networks with regards to Child Protection Procedures and completion of chronologies. * ♦ Oversaw six staff and their caseloads to ensure that plans were implemented and worked within appropriate timescales to seek best possible outcomes for children and families. * ♦ Oversaw contact with Children’s Centres with Locality Area to provide point of contact in order to address Child Protection Concerns as they arise. * ♦ Authorised payments within the team in order to ensure funding was balanced and in line with Council fiscal responsibility * ♦ Interviewed all prospective incoming new Social Workers and Senior Social Workers within Safer Recruitment Practices.

* Provided one to one supervision for four Family Workers on a fortnightly basis with regards to case management and supervisees work related needs. * Developed educational behavioural plans with local high schools for children at high risk of permanent exclusion. * Chaired weekly allocation forum of multi-disciplinary team in order to assess, accept and distribute referred work within the team, to the best suited team member, to work with the family. * Liaise between SAFE Adolescent Service and external agencies; including schools, social services, police, YOS, and other agencies; to determine the appropriateness of referrals and ensure that the families ongoing needs were being met. * Spearheaded SAFE’s transition onto Council wide database Framework-I in order to manage case loads and individual case files with greater efficiency.
