Worked as a Microsoft Sql Server Database Administrator in 2000, 2005, 2008, 2008 R2 and 2014 environments –installed, configured and maintained MS SQL server software , created new databases using MS SQL server management studio, added maintenance plans, executed SSIS packages to import and export data, created stored procedures, configured security, preformed database refreshes/restores and setup an SMTP mailing service for notification of critical alerts. Served Oracle database Administrator for OCFS Data warehouse creating backups, running refreshes, executing scripts sent by developers and other routine activities in production, development and testing environments. Assisted in diagnosing and troubleshooting critical database issues through use of tracing, performance monitoring and analyzing metrics using OEM and SQL Server Profiler. Tuned SQL queries to optimize application performance, reduce execution time and resource overhead Created several jobs to run off hours updates in Unix environments through use of Korn shell scripting and scheduled them to run on a regular basis through the cron.
