Ryan Kavanagh

Head of Nursing Services @ London Vet Specialists

About

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Nursing in 2015 from the University College Dublin, Ireland. Following graduation, I rotated through the university referral hospital for 2 years before moving to Dubai to take up a position in a busy 24-hour veterinary centre. I relocated to London in 2020 to work as a senior nurse in another 24-hour veterinary hospital before joining central London's only multidisciplinary veterinary referral centre as the Clinical Nursing Manager. I advanced to my current role as Head of Nursing Services ahead of our relocation to our new state-of-the-art referral centre in Hammersmith, London in May 2024. Our nursing team has grown from 6 to 32 in 6 months and we continue to seek enthusiastic and motivated RVNs and PCAs to join our team. My particular clinical interests include exotics, nutrition, wound care and advanced imaging. I achieved the Girling & Fraser Diploma in Veterinary Nursing of Zoological Species in 2023, closely followed by the Award in Veterinary Leadership & Management with VMG in 2024. I was also a finalist in London Vet Show's Thirty Under 30 Class of 2024, celebrating the achievements in my career to date.
