I started off in the Military as a Vehicle Mechanic for 7 years where I gained a sound understanding of basic mechanics over a broad range of vehicles. I then moved onto GUNN JCB as a service engineer where I enhanced my previous knowledge on engineering and moved them towards Plant machinery. Now upon completion of my OLEC 2 qualification I am working as an assistant OLE engineer for AMEY on the great western electrification project where I have gained a vast amount of knowledge in the 4 months I have been here which includes working In the office Marking up cross sections to design and then cross referencing with various databases to update to actual recorded measurements, doing steelwork analysis making sure all planned work is within the specified tolerances and going out on track recording actual measurements, ensuring the correct installation of steelwork. Ideally I would want to carry on in this field of work as either a OLEC 2 or an Assistant OLE engineer
