Crux Climbing Services vision is to get more people climbing, more often and in more places. This will consist of a mixture of climbing wall annual services and new climbing wall projects. The Mission is for every primary school child to have daily access to a traverse wall or climbing wall. This key stage is so important for developing complex motor skills and climbing is such a fantastic way of developing those skills plus so much more. Working closely with clients to consult and involve the customer to ensure they not only end up with the product they want but also create a climbing environment that will keep people coming back for years.

Based in Somerset, we are a second generation family run business, specialising in office partitioning, suspended ceilings and office refurbishment. With over thirty years’ experience as a market leader within the interiors sector we are able to provide an expert, professional and efficient service from initial survey to completion.

*  Instructing in a wide range of outdoor activities, such as hill walking, climbing, orienteering, abseiling, gorge walking and canoeing *  Planning and preparing activities to suit the needs, abilities and experience of each group *  To assist in teaching required sessions to clients at the highest standard *  To meet the clients needs and aspirations they wish to gain out of the sessions *  Giving briefings, advice and demonstrations to participants *  Making sure all equipment and facilities are safe *  Instructing participants in safety procedures *  Checking weather conditions, assessing hazards and managing risks.

*  Managing staff and staffing the centre to run all sessions and events. *  Driving sales of all products and services offered. *  Provide supervision and advice to individual and group climbers as necessary. *  Assist in the development, management, promotion and delivery of courses and trips run both in the centre and at outdoor locations. *  Dealing with customers and staff in a friendly, efficient manner. *  Deal with outdoor equipment distributers and stock control. *  To organise, run, and promote the climbing shop. *  Assisting in actively promoting a constant, positive improvement of staff, and instructors. *  Regular route setting. *  Planning and preparing activities to suit the needs, abilities and experience of each group. *  Ability to lead and manage groups of people. *  Invoicing *  Preparing and organising the centre to a high standard of cleanliness at all times.

I was was previously climbing development officer at Westveiw Climbing Centre, a role to which I was appointed in August 2014. During my time here I was successful in moving Westview Climbing Centre forward bringing the company up to date with current health and safety regulations, along with progressing the centres courses. Promotion of the benefits of sports and physical activity formed an important part of my role as well as the engagement of new audiences to tackle inactivity. I was responsible for instigating discussions and negotiating opportunities for ongoing projects, fostering local links and engagement, in particular building key relationships with schools, local partners and business’s.
