Continuous improvement is at the core of my work at IPL. My core role within the firm was to identify and deliver large and often hidden savings within the pack house as well as the commercial trading floor. Track record demonstrates the fact that regular savings of a minimum of 20% improvement may be achieved within the first few months with minimal or no capital expenditure. The role diversifies my activities within the company where one project may involve optimising the production cycle to remove bottlenecks, whereas the other may involve the optimisation of the procurement process.

My main role at FRPC was to streamline the production of glass reinforced rebars which are comprised or epoxy resins and glass fibres. I was in charge of searching and implementing new epoxy resins which are able to cure faster and at lower temperatures. I was solely responsible for implementing a chemical accelerator which decreased the cost of production by 8%. Furthermore, my team and i managed to certify all of our product range under the ISO certification.

Intern at Evonik Industries AG where i was involved in three projects which were running concurrently. -My main role was to develop the use of silanes in the metal pre-treatment and coating industry where i was tasked with researching alternative uses of current products -A project which was based on defining the value chain of the glass fibre market and figuring out the future customer basis -Worked on production scheduling of for the year of 2015/2016 based on current demand for different products Through my experience at Evonik i have also developed and learnt numerous skills across all areas but particularly a focus on time/project management, communication, leadership & teamwork. Through my participation in different aspects of Evonik's work, i had the possibility to learn VBA programming in Excel which was required day-to-day.

UNITECH’s aim is to prepare qualified engineering students for their professional future, it is “a community that connects corporate and academic talent to develop technical students across borders and cultures to jointly face tomorrow‘s business challenges”. The first six months of my UNITECH experience was an academic exchange at TU Delft, where alongside my chemical engineering modules I also took management oriented modules. The following six months of my year abroad was an internship with Evonik in the Resource Efficiency department. The UNITECH year also includes three weeks at partner Universities and “focuses on the acquisition of specific business know-how, social competence and the capacity for multicultural understanding.”

Head all events and organise all student activities within the Chemical Engineering Department. Also look out for sponsors that are willing to work with the department and find new ways to let students interact with the course. Also look over all financial and social activities within the department.
