In my role as a Solar Engineer, I’m involved in a wide range of tasks that support the full lifecycle of solar projects from initial client consultation all the way through to post-install support. Here’s a snapshot of what I handle day to day: I manage grid connection applications, ensuring all technical documents are prepared and submitted according to network requirements. I design solar PV systems, using industry software to create efficient, compliant, and site specific layouts. I provide technical support across the board assisting internal teams, installers, and clients with system queries and challenges. I conduct site and project visits to assess conditions, check progress, and provide on-ground technical input where needed. I follow up on projects after installation to ensure everything is performing as expected and documentation is completed. I carry out pre job qualifications, checking that all designs and requirements are in place before installation begins. I assist with proposal preparation, working closely with sales to create clear and accurate technical quotes for clients. I meet with clients for consultations, helping them understand their options and guiding them through technical decisions. I support the sales team by providing technical input, reviewing designs, and helping close deals with accurate system recommendations.
