About
I always aspired to be a software developer. Then, I lost my hands. Even as far back as 7th grade, I dreamed of a future as a software developer. I devoted countless hours to this craft, Then at just 16 years old, I faced an unprecedented obstacle that would catastrophically alter my future: bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome. Shortly after, I developed De Quervain's tenosynovitis in both thumbs. Carpal tunnel syndrome, marked by hand numbness, muscle weakness, and debilitating wrist pain, combined with the thumb pain of De Quervain’s, made every hand movement agonizing. For a developer, hands are not just tools, they are the foundation of the craft from which everything is done. Without them, my aspirations seemed impossible. Years of physical therapy, rest, and endless trial and error of innumerable solutions ultimately ended all the same; the pain remained. Many people, including close friends and family, pressured me to reconsider my career path. But all the same, I kept on moving forward. I pushed on to graduate high school with a 4.84 GPA, 75 transferable college units, and top four ranking in the class, all while simultaneously dual-enrolled in a challenging blended college curriculum. Even with disabilities, I again graduated top of my university at 3.98 GPA in only 2.5 years, all while obtaining invaluable experience from San Joaquin County and NVIDIA. Always adapt. Never doubt the things that you capable of when you are driven.
